Driver strikes, kills motorcyclist on Champions Forest Dr
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a driver fatally collided with a motorcyclist on the 13300 block of Champions Forest Dr on Wednesday.
Dale Spence was driving a red 2016 Lexus RX450 north on Champions Forest Dr near Coral Gables Dr when he failed to yield the right of way to southbound traffic and turned left onto Coral Gables Dr around 7:55 p.m. Spence then collided with a southbound green 1996 Harley Davidson XL883 operated by Michael Dacruz.
Rescue crews pronounced Dacruz dead at the scene at 8:17 p.m.
Spence and his passenger, Dr. Beverly Spence, were not hurt in the collision.
Following the collision, Spence remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
