Man falls off moving pickup truck, dies on W Lake Houston Pkwy in Atascocita
ATASCOCITA, TX – A man fell off of a moving pickup truck and died at 17401 W Lake Houston Pkwy on Saturday, according to The Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Roel Ortega was driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot at around 2:30 a.m. Isaia Capelo was standing on the running board and holding onto the top of the truck as it was in motion. Capelo lost his grip, fell off the pickup truck, and struck his head on the pavement.
Ortega rendered aid to Capelo and called 911. Paramedics arrived and pronounced Capelo dead at the scene.
Ortega is cooperating with authorities.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
