Driver strikes, kills pedestrian on S Gessner Rd
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, a driver fatally collided with a male pedestrian on the 6400 block of S Gessner Rd on Friday.
A 78-year-old woman was driving a white Nissan Rogue north on S Gessner Rd when she hit Ali Sbaiti, 65, as he was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk around 9:55 a.m.
Paramedics pronounced Sbaiti dead at the scene.
Authorities determined the driver was not impaired and questioned and released her.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
