Juvenile dies following pedestrian crash in NE Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A teenage boy was hit and critically injured by a vehicle Tuesday evening in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident took place in the 9400 block of Homestead Road, in the city’s Trinity/Houston Gardens area, at around 6:55 p.m.
Officials say the victim, believed to be 13, was on foot and in a travel lane when he was hit by a northbound driver in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.
The teen pedestrian, who was rushed to a local hospital, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, September 26.
An investigation remains underway, but the driver, 53, remained at the scene following the crash and impairment is not believed to be a factor.
