Woman convicted for crash that killed Harris County Sergeant on Sam Houston Pkwy
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, a jury convicted a woman of intoxication manslaughter for a deadly wreck that occurred on E Sam Houston Pkwy near Tidwell Rd on Jan. 24, 22.
Sergeant Ramon Gutierrez, 45, was directing traffic when Lavillia Spry drove around Guiterrez’s motorcycle and hit him. Spry then fled the scene.
First responders transported Guiterrez to an area hospital, where he died.
Authorities located and arrested Spry. They determined she was highly intoxicated. Spry was charged with intoxication, manslaughter, failure to stop and render aid, and evading arrest.
