Motorcyclist dies following multi-vehicle crash on I-45 in north Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision on the 23100 block of North Freeway in the H.O.V. lane on Tuesday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Rene Torres was riding a blue 2007 Suzuki GSX R750 north on I-45 when he rear-ended the rear of a gray 2017 Toyota Corolla operated by Emma Baron around 5:40 p.m.
The collision caused Torres to cross lanes and hit the back of a black 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Maci Nelson. Following the crash, Torres was ejected from the motorcycle.
First responders pronounced Torres dead at the scene.
Baron and Nelson were not hurt in the crash. They stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
