Driver hits officer on motorcycle in south Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A driver struck and injured a Houston police officer riding a motorcycle on 610 S Loop near TX 288 on Wednesday, according to KHOU.

The driver of a Toyota Prius lost control and hit the officer as he was escorting a convoy of heavy equipment around 6 a.m.

First responders transported the officer to an area hospital with neck and back injuries.
