Deputy, driver hospitalized following crash in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A Harris County sheriff’s deputy collided with another driver at Mason Rd and Colonial Pkwy on Thursday, according to Click 2 Houston.
The deputy had their lights and sirens on as they responded to a stabbing car. They were heading west on Colonial Rd when they collided with a woman in her 60s heading south on Mason Rd just after midnight. The collision sent the deputy’s patrol car crashing into a tree. It is unclear which driver ran the red light.
First responders transported both drivers to area hospitals.
The incident is under investigation.
