Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with man in wheelchair on Westheimer Rd
HOUSTON, TX – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man in a motorized wheelchair at 4700 Westheimer Rd on Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.
An SUV driver hit the victim, a 67-year-old man, as he was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk around 10:25 p.m.
Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital, where he died.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the incident to contact the HPD Hit-and-Run unit.
