1 dead in 3-vehicle collision in east Houston

HOUSTON, TX – One person died in a deadly three-vehicle accident in east Houston Monday afternoon, according to Click 2 Houston.

A box truck driver was heading west on Interstate 10 when they had engine troubles and reduced speeds to about 15 mph. Two other drivers swerved to avoid colliding with the truck.

The driver of a Chevy Silverado hit the truck around 1:33 p.m.

First responders pronounced the front passenger of the Silverado dead at the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital as a precaution.

Crews shut down the area to process the scene following the collision. The area was reopened at 5:46 p.m.
