1 dead in semi-truck collision in Greater Fifth Ward
HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, one person died in a fatal semi-truck crash in the Greater Fifth Ward Monday night.
The driver of a white sedan was heading east on the East Freeway near Waco Street around 9:15 a.m. when the vehicle rolled to a stop and the car became disabled.
The driver of a semi-truck was unable to stop and slammed into the back of an SUV, causing the SUV to collide with disabled sedan. The SUV was then hit by another vehicle.
First responders extricated the woman driving the SUV from the vehicle before it caught on fire. They pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported three other drivers to area hospitals in stable condition.
