Woman hurt in crash on Fondren Road dies the next day
HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, a woman who was hurt in a collision on Fondren Road on June 5 died the next day from her injuries.
Authorities believe the drivers of a white Honda Accord and a White Ford F-20 were racing while heading south on the 9300 block of Fondren Road at around 2:10 p.m. when the Honda driver switched lanes and went into the path of the Ford. The Ford driver then struck the Honda.
The Honda slammed into a power pole, splitting the car in half. First responders transported the couple inside the Honda to an area hospital. The woman, Reem Musallam, 37, underwent surgery and died the next day.
The Ford was flipped over in the crash.
The men driving the two vehicles are both in stable condition.
Police believe the two drivers were going at least 70 mph before the accident.
