Authorities charge man with intoxication manslaughter for Kingwood crash
KINGWOOD, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, authorities have charged a man with intoxication manslaughter for a wreck that killed an elderly couple at West Lake Houston Parkway and Magnolia Cove Drive on Sunday.
John Nathan Dool, 40, was driving a Dodge Ram when he struck a northbound Cadillac XT5 SUV around 5:45 p.m.
The collision sent the SUV crashing into a pole before it came to rest on its side.
First responders pronounced the two occupants of the SUV, Curtis Van Diest, 60, and Catherine Van Diest, 66, dead at the scene. Drool was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities charged Drool with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
