Driver fatally collides with pickup truck near Greater Fifth Ward

HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, one person died in a semi-truck collision on eastbound Interstate 10 near the Waco Street off-ramp Thursday morning.

The driver of a pickup truck rear-ended a semi-truck around 3:30 a.m. The driver became pinned inside the truck.

First responders pronounced the pickup truck driver dead at the scene.

Crews shut down the area to process the scene. The area was reopened around 6 a.m. A stalled vehicle caused the interstate to remain closed.
