Wrong-way crash on I-69 near Townsen claims 22-year-old

HUMBLE, TX – A 22-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Saturday in a wrong-way crash along the freeway in northeast Harris County, reports Fox 26 Houston.

The two-vehicle accident occurred on I-69, or the Eastex Freeway, near Townsen Boulevard in the city of Humble, which is approximately 20 miles northeast of Houston.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of I-69 and collided head on with a northbound car.

After performing life-saving measures at the scene, medics transported the northbound driver to an area hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased the public.

It’s unclear if the wrong-way driver sustained injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
