Wife killed in solo motorcycle crash on I-10 near S Major Dr
BEAUMONT, TX – A 31-year-old woman died earlier this month in a solo motorcycle crash along the interstate in Beaumont, about 84 miles northeast of Houston.
According to 12 News Now, the accident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, near the intersection of I-10 and South Major Drive. This is just northeast of Texas Marine of Beaumont.
Police say that a motorcyclist was speeding when he lost control of the bike, left the roadway, and hit a concrete drainage ditch. The impact of the crash ejected both the operator and passenger.
The passenger, identified as Emily Jolet, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Medics transported the operator, identified as 41-year-old Clifton Jolet, to an area hospital with critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
