Car strikes, kills teen on Sam Houston Toll near Briar Forest
HOUSTON, TX – Police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that happened Sunday night along the toll road in west-central Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of the Sam Houston Tollway and Briar Forest Drive, which is just west of Mary Ann Franklow Park and southeast of Lakeside Country Club.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the 18-year-old victim was walking on or along the toll road when a car hit him.
The victim, who has not yet been named by police, died from their injuries.
The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities. It’s unclear if they will face charges.
A full investigation is underway.
