Police pursuit ends in fatal solo crash at Galveston Seawall
GALVESTON, TX – One person died last Tuesday in a single-vehicle collision that ended a police pursuit from LaMarque to Galveston, reports abc 13.
The accident occurred sometime at night at the Galveston Seawall in the 1400 block of Seawall Boulevard. This is around 15 miles southeast of LaMarque and 51 miles southeast of Houston.
The investigation indicates that LaMarque Police initiated a pursuit of a vehicle thought to be involved in a hit-and-run collision in Harris County. The vehicle fled southbound on I-45, ultimately crashing at the Galveston Seawall.
The driver, who has not yet been identified publicly, sustained fatal injuries.
It’s unclear if there were any other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
