Civic crashes into Cypress retention pond, killing driver
CYPRESS, TX – A man died Thursday when his vehicle crashed into a pond in northwest Harris County, reports Click 2 Houston.
The single-vehicle accident occurred sometime in the morning at the retention pond located just south of the intersection of Windhaven Terrace Trail and Windhaven Lake Drive in Cypress, which is around 27 miles from Houston.
Police say that a man appears to have lost control of his Honda Civic, causing the vehicle to hit a pier and drive into the retention pond.
Emergency crews found the overturned vehicle in the pond around 4 p.m. They then recovered the deceased male driver from the vehicle.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, nor have they commented on the cause of the crash.
