Car sinks, driver dies in canal crash on FM 2094 near Kemah

KEMAH, TX – Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle collision that killed one person early Tuesday in northeast Galveston County, reports abc 13.

Shortly after midnight, emergency crews were called to a major accident on FM 2094, or Marina Bay Drive, in Kemah, which is around 34 miles southeast of Houston.

Police haven’t yet determined what cased a vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a canal. The vehicle became submerged, killing the driver at the scene.

Officials are still working to identify the victim.

There were no other passengers in the car at the time of the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
