Teen driver hits, injures 8-year-old skater on Gettysburg Dr
TOMBALL, TX – An eight-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday night when a vehicle struck him on a residential street in northwest Harris County.
According to Click 2 Houston, the auto-pedestrian crash occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Gettysburg Drive between Louetta Road and Auburn Hills Drive in the Villaggio area of Tomball.
Police say the victim was rollerblading in the center median when a vehicle struck him.
Medics airlifted the child to a downtown hospital with serious injuries. While the victim was conscious at the time of transport, it’s unclear if he’s expected to survive.
The teen driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities. He did not show any signs of intoxication.
