Jury charges Devin Delvalle with manslaughter in 2023 crash

KATY, TX – The man responsible for fatally striking a teen cyclist at a Katy intersection in 2023 has been convicted of second-degree manslaughter.

According to Click 2 Houston, a jury found Devin Delvalle guilty in connection to the crash that killed a 14-year-old on September 28, 2023.

The accident occurred at the intersection of South Mason Road and Cinco Park Road in Cinco Ranch Southpark.

Authorities say the teen was riding his bicycle in the crosswalk when Delvalle failed to heed a stop sign and hit him.

The teen victim did not survive his injuries.

Delvalle awaits sentencing and could face up to 20 years in prison.
