Driver at large in fatal pedestrian crash on Beechnut Dr
HOUSTON, TX – A vehicle fatally struck a female pedestrian Saturday along a major roadway in southwest Houston, reports KDH News.
Martha Carrillo, 67, was walking along Beechnut Drive Saturday night between Mary Bates Boulevard and South Gessner Road when the accident occurred.
Police say that a silver truck hit the pedestrian in a crosswalk when the driver disregarded a stop sign. The truck then impacted with a BMW X40.
Carrillo succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the crash.
Drivers likely encountered substantial delays along Beechnut Street Saturday night while crews work at the scene.
