Police respond to fatal pedestrian crash near East Fwy, Manor St

HOUSTON, TX – A man in his 30s died Monday in an auto-pedestrian crash along the freeway in east Houston, reports Click 2 Houston.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the East Freeway, or I-10, between Nancy Rose Street and the Sam Houston Tollway.

The victim, police say, was walking in a lane of travel when an SUV struck him, killing him at the scene. Officials haven’t yet released the name of the deceased pedestrian.

The driver involved in the crash fled the scene initially but later contacted authorities to self-report the accident.

No charges have been announced thus far, as the investigation continues.
