Several hurt after SUV strikes multiple vehicles at southwest Houston intersection
HOUSTON, TX – Several people were hurt Friday afternoon when an SUV hit multiple vehicles near Harwin Drive and Hillcroft Avenue, reports ABC 13.
Houston police say the crash involved several cars, one of which belonged to the Houston Police Department. Footage from the area showed a chaotic scene after the impacts.
A nearby worker said crashes have happened there before, but that this incident looked far more serious than usual.
Police radio recordings captured an officer asking for backup after the HPD vehicle took a hit. The officer said he did not know what prompted the incident.
Investigators say officers arrested a man at the scene. Police later identified him as 33-year-old Robert Lee Scott.
Authorities accused Scott of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault against a public servant.
Officials reported that several people suffered injuries but have not released details about the victims’ conditions.
