Cement truck rollover prompts hazmat response in East Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are treating a cement truck rollover on Tremont Street in East Houston as a chemical spill incident, reports FOX 26 Houston.

The crash happened on Wednesday morning at around 10:30 a.m. along Tremont Street near Tidwell Road and Wayside Drive.

A person who contacted authorities reported that someone may have been inside the truck.

Fire officials say the overturned vehicle created a chemical spill concern nearby. A hazardous materials crew responded to manage the situation. Officials later reopened the area after crews finished their work.

Authorities did not release details about the spilled substance. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
