5 hospitalized following semi-truck rollover crash in Houston
HOUSTON, TX – Five people were hospitalized following a semi-truck rollover crash that occurred on westbound U.S. 290 before FM-1960 on Tuesday.
Fox26Houston said the truck had overturned, which caused cargo to fall onto the road and resulted in a spill, prompting a response from Cy-Fire crews and hazmat personnel. They shut down the westbound lanes and stayed behind to contain and clean up the spill and other debris left from the crash. Drivers were urged to seek alternative routes as officials worked to restore safe road conditions.
EMS crews rushed five people to a hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries was not specified, although they appear to be in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, and no reports of citations or charges were mentioned.
