Houston local’s life claimed in pedestrian-vehicle crash on Fondren Road

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston local died as a result of a pedestrian-vehicle crash that happened on the 6700th block of Fondren Road on Monday.

Houston Police told Click2Houston that the Houston local, an elderly woman, was using a walker to help her cross the street when she was struck by a northbound Infiniti.

Police confirmed the pedestrian did not use a marked crosswalk and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Police said the driver, a young woman, stayed at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and had no record of reckless driving.

The police’s vehicular crimes division is working to determine the events leading to the crash and has not announced any charges for the driver.

Updates, including the pedestrian’s name, will be added once the latest developments come to light.
