Suspect ID’d, arrested after intentionally running over woman with moving truck
WEST HOUSTON, TX – A suspect, who fled the scene after intentionally running over his 31-year-old girlfriend with a moving truck, has been arrested, ABC13 reports.
This comes as an update in connection with our previous reporting. The suspect, who was identified as 33-year-old Keith Bembry Sims, has been charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of his girlfriend.
The Back Story
The incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday on the 2400th block of South Gessner Road.
Sims and his girlfriend, along with a third person, were hired as a moving crew for a scheduled moving job. As they were working, Sims reportedly got into a heated argument with his girlfriend.
Sims entered the moving truck and then ran over his girlfriend, who died from her injuries.
Sims fled the scene of the crash and was later found by local police.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is withholding the victim’s name until her family is notified.
