Police suspect speed, impairment in fatal NE Houston head-on crash
NORTHEAST HOUSTON, TX – Houston police suspect speed and impairment were factors behind a fatal head-on crash that happened in Northeast Houston on Sunday.
The collision occurred around 11 p.m. on the 9300th block of Tidwell Road, according to Click2Houston. Police believe one driver, who they believe was impaired, crossed the center line before crashing their sedan head-on into a pickup truck.
EMS crews rushed the sedan driver and female pickup truck driver to a hospital. There, the sedan motorist survived, while the pickup truck driver survived and is now in stable condition.
Police said Tidwell Road is a dark area where speeding is common.
Police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
