Motorcyclist critically injured following high-speed chase on I-45

HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a high-speed police chase on I-45 that ended in a dramatic collision.

KHOU reports that the pursuit began on southbound I-45 near Edgebrook Drive at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, when state trooper attempted to pull over a motorcyclist for speeding. The motorcyclist sped off, weaving through traffic at speeds approaching 100 mph. The chase ended near Woodridge Drive, where the motorcyclist hit a jersey barrier and was thrown from the bike.

Emergency responders took the motorcyclist to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Traffic in the area was shut down for some time as police investigated.

No one else appears to have been injured in the crash.
