HPD investigating fatal pedestrian accident on Collingsworth St

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-vs.-pedestrian accident that took place in the Near Northside area on Friday morning.

According to HPD, the fatal collision happened in the 1700 block of Collingsworth Street at about 9:40 a.m. on August 7.

They believe that a woman was walking across the street outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle hit her and then left the scene. Police do not know the make or model of the vehicle at this time.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. They are withholding identification pending notification of family.
