Fatal single-vehicle crash shuts down SB TX-288 in Pearland

PEARLAND, TX – A driver died earlier this morning in a single-vehicle collision that has also shut down southbound traffic on TX-288 just past the Sam Houston Tollway.

KHOU reports that the fatal collision happened near Spectrum Boulevard shortly before 4:45 a.m. this morning. The driver, the vehicle’s sole occupant, died at the scene.

All southbound lanes of TX-288 are currently closed between the Beltway and Clear Creek. Northbound and toll lanes remain unaffected.

Commuters should consider alternative routes during heavy rush hour traffic.
