Man, 69, killed in collision involving big rig in NW Houston

NORTHWEST HOUSTON, TX – A 69-year-old man was killed in a collision involving a big rig in Northwest Houston on Wednesday, ABC13 said.

This comes as an update in connection with our previous reporting. The incident occurred before 11:45 a.m. on the 9700th block of the Katy Freeway. Police determined that the 69-year-old man, driving a black Hyundai Tucson, was traveling east on the freeway when he was struck by a white 18-wheeler.

EMS crews rushed the 69-year-old man to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said the truck driver was heading in the same direction as the 69-year-old male driver at the time of the crash. However, the contributing factor behind this collision remains unclear.

Updates, including reports of citations or criminal charges, will be added once we know more.
