59-year-old woman killed in head-on crash in Conroe 

CONROE, TX – A 59-year-old woman died from her injuries following a head-on crash in Conroe on Sunday, Fox26Houston said.

The incident happened before 4:45 a.m. on Interstate 45 near Gladstell Street. A pickup truck driver was going south on northbound I-45 when they crashed their Nissan Titan pickup truck into an SUV.

EMS provided medical aid to both drivers. The SUV driver, the 59-year-old woman, unfortunately did not survive, while the pickup truck driver, a 20-year-old adult, was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

The woman has since been identified as Emelia Muniz, while the pickup truck driver’s identity has not been released.

Conroe police are working to determine whether impairment played a role in the crash.
