Victim identified in fatal crash on Mopac Expressway

AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Police have identified the individual who died in a collision on the Mopac Expressway south of downtown Saturday evening.

According to KXAN, Andrea Granzotti, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash within the 11700 block of South Mopac Expressway. Police believe Granzotti was ejected from the passenger seat of a McLaren 600 traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a concrete pillar.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Their identity and condition are not being released at this time.
