Motorcyclist killed in crash with pickup truck on SH-80 in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, TX – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck in San Marcos earlier this week, according to information from the San Marcos Corridor News.
The crash happened on State Highway 80 near River Road and the Walmart Supercenter at around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, after the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck attempted to make a left turn.
The driver then struck a motorcyclist traveling on SH-80, 46-year-old San Marcos resident Dylan Grose. Grose was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
It is unclear if the other driver was hurt in the crash.
The other driver remained at the scene and consented to a blood draw.
Authorities reportedly discovered the presence of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver received a citation for possession of less than two ounces and was released at the scene. The results of the blood draw were not immediately released.
The crash, which is the fourth fatal collision of the year for San Marcos, remains under investigation.
