Deputy hurt, driver arrested in crash at Beltway 8, Imperial Valley

HOUSTON, TX – An alleged drunk driver ran a red light Monday in north Houston, causing a crash that injured a Harris County Deputy.

According to Fox 26, the collision occurred early in the morning at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Imperial Valley Drive in Greenspoint.

Police say that a northbound vehicle collided with a westbound patrol car when the driver of the former vehicle ignored a traffic signal.

Medics transported a deputy from the patrol car to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials arrested the driver of the northbound vehicle for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
