Drunk driver strikes, kills woman at Pierce St, St. Charles St
HOUSTON, TX – A driver faces a possible charge of intoxication manslaughter after fatally striking a female pedestrian Sunday night in central Houston.
According to Fox 26, the auto-pedestrian crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pierce Street and St. Charles Street, which is just south of the Gulf Freeway and east of the South Freeway.
Police say the victim was leaving a bar when a speeding vehicle hit her. The car then proceeded to crash into several parked vehicles.
Authorities declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Her name has not yet been made public.
Police arrested the driver involved in the collision.
Charges are pending, as the investigation continues.
