DWI arrested following rollover crash in Houston’s Northside that claimed life of passenger
HOUSTON, TX — A 36-year-old man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a crash early last Friday in north Houston that killed his passenger, according to the Houston Police Department.
The HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the fatal wreck occurred in the 4700 block of North Freeway (Interstate 45) at around 2:25 a.m.
Preliminary details show the suspect, Edwardo Delgado, was driving a silver Chevrolet Tahoe northbound when the vehicle veered out from its lane and collided with a concrete barrier. The Chevrolet then slammed into a concrete pillar and overturned onto its side.
Delgado’s passenger, a 35-year-old woman whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
First responders had Delgado taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. He was later arrested after a preliminary investigation found him to be intoxicated.
