Minor injuries reported in Missouri City train vs. semi crash

MISSOURI CITY, TX – Minor injuries have been reported in connection to a crash involving a semi-truck and a train in Fort Bend County.

According to Click 2 Houston, the accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the railroad crossing near US-90 and Cravens Road in Missouri City.

Police say that an 18-wheeler was stopped on the tracks while the crossing arm was engaged. An eastbound Amtrak collided with the semi, causing the the truck to leak oil and ignite.

Medics treated at least two people at the scene. At this time, no hospitalizations have been reported.

The truck driver received a citation for stopping on the railroad tracks.
