One killed in crash near Southwest Freeway and West Loop in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – One person died in a crash on Friday near the northbound I-69 Southwest Freeway connection to the I-610 West Loop in Houston, reports ABC13.

Houston TranStar registered the wreck at about 5:20 a.m. The collision shut down ramp access to the West Loop in both directions for several hours. Officials reopened the connectors around 8:15 a.m.

Authorities say early reports indicated someone was pinned inside a vehicle after the collision. Police have not released further details about the deadly incident and continue to investigate what led to the crash.
