Pedestrian dies after being hit by pickup truck in Houston’s Hidden Valley area
HOUSTON, TX — Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a pedestrian crash Monday morning in north Houston that fatally injured a woman, reports ABC13.
Officials said the incident was reported at 950 West Mount Houston Road, in the Hidden Valley neighborhood. Deputies arrived on the scene at around 5:30 a.m.
Preliminary details provided by HCSO Lt. Simon Cheng indicates a driver in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling westbound when a woman entered the roadway pushing a shopping cart.
The woman appeared to have been walking with her fried, who had a bicycle. Officials said it was dark when both pedestrians crossed the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk.
The area was shut down for at least an hour after the initial report as authorities investigated. Both the striking driver and the other pedestrian were questioned before being released from the scene.
