Pickup strikes, kills elderly pedestrian on Grand Village Pkwy

CONROE, TX – A vehicle struck and fatally injured an elderly woman at a busy intersection in the northern suburbs on Tuesday, reports Click 2 Houston.

Shortly after 5 p.m., emergency crews responded to a pedestrian accident at Grand Village Boulevard and Town Park Drive in Conroe. This is approximately 40 miles northwest of Houston.

Police say that 72-year-old Kate Autry was walking in a designated crosswalk when a pickup truck hit her.

Despite life-saving efforts, Autry succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
