Update: APD releases more info on fatal pedestrian crash on I-35
AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have released additional information concerning Friday’s fatal pedestrian collision on I-35.
According to a press release on their online resources page, APD believes that a Honda Accord traveling north on I-35 struck the pedestrian in the highway’s 5500 block at 9:48 p.m.
The pedestrian, an unidentified white male, died at the scene. HE is the city’s 117th traffic fatality this year, a significant increase over the 88 people who died in traffic collisions in the city in 2020.
The Honda’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police request that anyone with knowledge of the incident contact them at their earliest convenience.
