Victim IDed in wrong-way crash along TX-124 near Sensat Ln

BEAUMONT, TX – A 38-year-old man died Monday in a two-vehicle collision along a highway in central Jefferson County, reports 12 News Now.

Shortly after 5 a.m., emergency crews responded to a wrong-way crash on TX-124 near Sensat Lane on the far northwest side of Beaumont.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound Nissan 370Z entered the southbound side of the highway and collided head on with a southbound Nissan Altima.

The driver of the Altima, identified as Shannon Rashad Jackson, died at the scene.

Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
