2 killed, 3 injured in crash involving big rig on SH-73 near Port Arthur
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TX — Two people died and three others were left hurt late Monday after a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 73 near Port Arthur, reports KHOU11.
A map linked by KHOU11 indicates the accident occurred just east of West Port Arthur Road, in an area about 90 miles east of Houston.
It was unclear what caused the wreck, but footage captured at the scene shows significant damage to the rear end of a car, and tractor-trailer overturned on the highway median.
A man and a woman were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A teenage boy was transported by airlift to Houston’s Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. First responders also rushed two adult victims to a Beaumont hospital, where their conditions remain undisclosed. The truck driver was not reported hurt.
At this time, no further information has been shared, and no pending charges have been reported.
