Driver arrested with intoxication manslaughter for fatal crash in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, an alleged impaired driver was charged for a deadly crash that occurred near 600 N Eldridge Pkwy on Saturday.
Ana Contreras, 29, was driving a gray Honda Accord north on N Eldridge Pkwy at high speeds when she changed lanes. Around 1:05 a.m., Contreras hit a curb and drove off the sidewalk before slamming into a tree.
First responders pronounced a 23-year-old woman dead at the scene. Contreras and a female front-seat passenger were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities determined Contreras was impaired and charged her with intoxication manslaughter.
