Auto-pedestrian crash on Ridlon St in Channelview kills 1
CHANNELVIEW, TX – A man died Tuesday evening in an auto-pedestrian crash in the far-eastern suburbs of Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The incident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the area of Ridlon Street and Sheldon Road in Channelview. This is north of I-10 and west of Bear Lake.
Police say that an eastbound Toyota Corolla struck Jesus Hernandez Bautista on Ridlon Street. Bautista did not have right of way at the time of the accident.
Bautista succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Toyota stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
The driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash and will likely not face charges.
A full investigation is underway.
