2 injured, 1 arrested in crash at Hilcroft Ave and Willowbend Blvd

HOUSTON, TX – Two people sustained injuries, and one person was arrested Wednesday in a crash involving a police cruiser in southwest Houston.

According to Click 2 Houston, the accident happened in the area of Hilcroft Avenue and Willowbend Boulevard shortly before 1:15 a.m. This is northwest of Westbury Park and southeast of St. Thomas More Parish School.

Police say that a car struck a Houston police cruiser that had been involved in an earlier crash at the intersection. The driver of the car that hit the cruiser was allegedly speeding and intoxicated at the time of the collision.

Medics transported both the officer and a female victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities arrested the speeding driver on a DUI charge.

A full investigation is underway.
